Hi. I am a recently divorce Tennessee transplant. I moved to Chicago about six months ago to pursue a career opportunity that I dreamed of for YEARS.

I thought of the woman I wanted my daughter to be and decided to go and be that woman.

Many people think I am crazy to have left my stable tribe of family and friends to relocate to a city with no tribe whatsoever...and maybe I am a little crazy...but aren't all the best people?

Why the Move

One day while I was driving home with my daughter, I was causally thinking about the kind of woman that I wanted her to be. I knew I wanted her to be fierce, unafraid, brave, intelligent, savvy, spiritually grounded, financially wise, well traveled...and the list goes on. While I was thinking about all of these wonderful characteristics I hoped to instill in my daughter...I heard a little voice say "Why don't you go be THAT woman?" (Hearing voices...maybe I am cray lol)

And just like that...I decided to be that woman. Post divorce me has welcomed all the changes life could grant me. The timing could not have been more perfect to make a job change. Loved my former employer, but welcomed working for another company that I admired and aspired to work.

Chicago is where I lived when I was married. Being here allowed for my ex-husband to have the active relationship he so desired with our daughter.

Just like that...I asked the Universe to be the woman I wanted and it responded.

So here I am...
