Never fear, for there is toddler gear to address such concerns.

The #Minime and I are closing the month of May with four trips!!! I must be nuts!!! OR...I must be working, SINGLE, MOM who has a life that has to be lived.

A few months back, I wrote a blog post about traveling with my nightmare toddler lol:-)

I am proud to say, she is less of a nightmare these days. However, I am facing a new terror...the use of public restrooms, allergies, and eating of airport food.

And, if the fact that all this gear is available....NOTHING below was over $25.

Potty in peace

I HATE HATE HATE Public Bathrooms. I HATE them so much...I will not take food and/or water into a public bathroom. IF, I have to...I can assure you the food and/or water is wrapped up or placed in my carry-on bag.

Typically, I have no problem holding it. Unfortunately, it is neither fair nor a realistic expectation to ask a toddler to refrain from the need to #potty.

Cue portable potty seats/covers.

A B C

A: Fold Up seat that can fit into pretty much anything (Marshalls)

B: A friend recommended this one...I LOVE this one bc it becomes a potty anywhere. You put a bag on it...the bag captures the waste...you throw the bag and everything in it away! (Amazon)

C: Simple...easy...full coverage (Amazon)

Germs, Germs...and limiting Squirms

I do not care what anyone says...I do not feel exposure to germs unnecessarily is "good for the child."

Transparent moment: I can be damn near rude about sick people being around my child. The #Minime seems to feel the same as she has been known to tell parents at her daycare that their child "needs medicine" if she suspects her classmates are sick lol:-)

  • Lysol Spray

  • Tide-to-Go

  • Q-tips

  • Lip Balm

  • Body Wash

  • Vaseline

  • Shower Cap...because ya know...#BlackGirlHairProbz

Bull in a Plastic Shop

So...most restaurants do not have kiddie plates and/or flatware.

Toddler + Glass, Ceramic, Anything Breakable = SHATTERED HOPES AND DREAMS OF A PEACEFUL MEAL

A B C

A: Plastic cups that turn into spill-proof sippy cups when the top is attached (Target)

B: Disposable Place mats (Marshalls)

C: Plastic Plates and flatware (Marshalls and Ross)

All easily washable and none of these were over $2.99!

Distract...Distract...Distract

Compartmental Toys...Little Books...Charged Fully Loaded Tablet...

Literally...nothing a toddler could want for with all these items at hand!

My Main Chicks

There are some essentials that we still cannot be without and one new one.

  • Blanket...airport weather is seriously bi-polar

  • Snacks in a cute little Dollar Store Snack Box....She thinks it is fun to dig thru and think she has a free will over her previously selected snacks

  • Leash bc homegirl is still wild...

  • Extra Clothes...again...potty trained but not accident proof..

  • and more SNACKS!!!!

We recently discovered...the scary way of course...that the #Minime has some pretty severe allergies. With that being said...we have to keep her Epi Pens on deck.

Something I am currently working on is a little DIY Allergy Book. My coworker gave me the idea of finding pictures of items the #Minime is allergic to, writing a brief dscription of what needs to be done and what her allergic reaction might look like. Afterwards, she recommended I get it laminated so it is something she can carry with her to school, babysitters, grandparents, friends' houses etc. I absolutely LOVED this idea and will share a pic of the book when it is done!

Just Throw It in the Bag

Two different bag options.

One for me...and one the #Minime's size.

What I love most about all of this...is my child is excited about every single one of these items. It gets her excited about going on the airplane!

Plus, I pretty much have created a mini flying daycare:-)
