Do not let the #Housewives or that family on E! fool you...some of the best self care is the cheapest.

Lately, there has been a major push for #selfcare. I even wrote a blog last year about how I actively participate in self care.

Because #selcare is the "in" thing to do...it now has become super exotic...super exclusive...and super expensive.

After traveling every week but one in May, I was tired of spending money. PLUS, I am a milennial and the whole fact of High A$$ rent, HIGHER A$$ student loans, and HIGHEST A$$ daycare cost, makes my money not my own lol (runs to corner and cry).

We BE TIRED!

So I decided to set a budget of $30 USD and get my #selfcare on.

Before I jump in, let me say this:

Folks, if you are allergic to any of these items, please DO NOT use them. Also, the below recs are what work best on my skin. Please take all of this into consideration.

Now with that being said, let us jump into some cheap #selfcare fun.

Get you some juice...to get you feeling loose

An Adult Beverage: $5.99

Trader Joe's and Aldi have the best selection of GOOD budget-friendly Wine, Prosecco, and/or Champagne.

Trader Joe's has this Cranberry Prosecco I love called Secco. It cost a whopping $5.99!

Some of my other fave budget-friendly finds:

  • Secco Grapefruit Pompelini: $5.99 at Trader Joe's

  • Secco Strawberry and Raspberry Rossini: at $5.99 Trader Joe's

  • Wish Flower Rosé: $6.99 at Trader Joe's

Fresh Bouquet of Flowers x 2: $3.99

Both Aldi and Trader Joe's sell beautiful bouquets for the L-O.

One to keep around the house. Fresh flowers have been linked to happiness.

One for your goddess bath!

turn off the lights...and light a candle

Tea light candles: $1

Dollar Tree will always be the place for me. This is optional. If you already have candles, there is no need to buy more.

turns out i want and need a scrub

Homemade Face Scrub: $6.78

If you have any of the following items in your place, you are good to go:

  • Sugar (1lb for $1.79 Jewel Osco)

  • Coffee Grinds (Dunno-not a coffee drinker, but found some cheap for $5.79 at Jewel Osco)

  • Water (Free-ish)

  • Honey ($4.59 Jewel Osco)

  • Vitamin E Oil ($4.99 at Target)

***I already had all of these items, so no additional purchase was necessary. Baby oil would work just fine in substitute for the Vitmain E Oil and/or Honey***

Started from the Top...Now we Here #FreshFace #ScrubLife #FacialScrub #Exfoliate

I personally use Sugar, Water, and Vitamin E Oil. You only need a combo of two. The important part is to be able to make a paste out of the either the sugar or the coffee.

You can use any of the excess scrub on your hands and/or feet.

Ok...I know my skin did not start from a bad state. I drink lots of water and orange juice. I also take a hair, skin, and nail vitamin. I stay away from caffeine.

Mask On

Face Mask from Trader Joe's: $1.99

After my face scrub, I put on this face mask while I relax in my hot bath.

i am a goddess...hear me not roar

Goddess Bath

I run a hot-as-I-can-stand it bath, cut the flowers from my bouquet, toss them in the bath, and light my dollar tree candles.

Depending on my mood, I will play some relaxing music on Pandora...which is Free btw.

Mini #GoddessBath for the Mini #Goddess

99% of the time, I prefer silence. I like to let my mind relax and really practice some mindful thinking.

Can I just say, when I take these baths...I feel so powerful and rejuvenated as a woman.

I have never had a romantic partner run a rose petal bath for me, but people...you need not wait on a significant other to do this. You actually should do it for yourself. Life-changing...goddess inducing bath right here.

Aloe...Is it me you're looking for

Aloe Vera Leaf: $1.79 at Whole Foods

Aloe Vera is seriously one of the Great Divine's greatest gifts to this Earth.

Supercool thing about Aloe Vera...it is good for all skin types.

Good Looking out Mother Nature:-)

Once I get out of my Goddess bath, I like to use either Aloe Vera or Vitamin E Oil as my moisturizer. I seriously feel like I have the greatest skin after applying.

Also, an unused Aloe Vera leaf can stay in the fridge for weeks and the freezer for months.

pour it up, pour it up...watch me binge out

Pour up a glass and enjoy a Mini Binge Session

If you have Amazon Prime, Netflix, and/or some type of Cable Provider...you have access to pretty much anything your indulgent heart could desire. If you do not have any of these items, I am so sure you have a friend that does OR you could do the one week sign up, BUT you better remember to cancel.

Some of my fave shows/movies to Binge:

  • Harry Potter...I mean...duh

  • Game of Thrones

  • Sex and the City

  • Insecure

  • Hitch...could watch this move every single day

  • Any and everything Nat Geo Wild...I've ALWAYS had a thing for Nat Geo

Either way...I recommend watching something somewhat mindless.

I am a big housewives fan, but when I need to relax and/or am in a calm state, I cannot watch those type of shows.

They give me anxiety due to my frustrations aka emotional investment with some of the cast members lol.

The above total for all of this #selfcare is under $30 USD without tax. I think the exact total for the above is $25.33. To be even more transparent, I only had to buy the fresh flowers and Aloe Vera leaf, so I only spent $9.96!

What's Mine is Hers

Share in the Self-Care Wealth

In true #SMOM fashion, I could not leave my mini me out of the #selfcare love.

ree
It would be bad parenting to not allow the #MiniMe to stay up and watch #HarryPotter #Sharethewealth #Selfcare
  • She got to enjoy a mini Goddess bath.

  • I did a little Mani-Pedi.

  • Used the Vitamin E Oil for her moisturizer. I use this on her every day. We call it her "makeup".

  • Let her watch The Good Dinosaur.

  • Read her a book of her choosing vs mine lol (she has so many and I get tired of reading the same book over and over. PLUS, we are trying to read 1k books before Kindergarten).

  • Cuddled with her, then gave her the "mommy" blanket-which is really a throw we have in the living room.

Some Add-Ons/Alternatives/Substitutes If Your Budget Allows

Jade Roller: $9.99 at Marshall's

Splendid White Whitening Wraps: $15.99 at Target

A Walk/Run Outside: Free...Something so peaceful being out in nature

Words of Empowerment

Last, but not least...

If you have a job that offers benefits...most employers have EAP (Employee Assistance Programs) that offer free and/or low cost counseling.

All the self-care in the world means nothing if your mental care is not tended to <3
